SH176 MILLION DRUG HAUL DESTROYED

Narcotic drugs worth over Sh 176. 5 million were today destroyed during a culmination of a court process presided over by Senior Principal Magistrate Hon. Njeri Thuku at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory.

Representing the Director DCI, the Deputy Director Mr John Onyango lauded the collective work by all the stakeholders involved in the entire process emphasizing that the destruction symbolizes our unwavering determination to purge the society of the menace of drug trafficking and abuse.

"Every gram of these drugs destroyed represents lives saved," Mr Onyango explained in his remarks.

The drugs which included Cocaine, Heroine, Methamphetamine, Amphetamine, Atilafetamine, Cannabis and Flunitrazepam were recovered by Anti Narcotics detectives on separate occasions in their relentless efforts in the fight against drugs in the region.

In her remarks, Hon Njeri Thuku highlighted that the aim of such an action was to ensure that our communities are safe and that society is protected. Further, the Principal Magistrate acknowledged the good work done by the DCI in safeguarding our nation.

The activity was also witnessed by Mr Allan Mulama from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution, the Director Anti Narcotics Unit Mr Samuel Laboso, The Director Liason and Corporate Communications Mr John Marete, and officers from Government Chemist among other notables.
