TRAFFICKERS GUISED AS PASSENGERS ARRESTED WITH BALES OF BHANG

Two suspects of trafficking in narcotics were early this morning ejected from a Nairobi-bound matatu from Busia at the Kangemi flyover, and from them 16 bales of bhang stashed in their travel bags seized.

The arrest of the two, Samuel Okello and Antony Omingo, followed a #FichuakwaDCI tip from members of the public, indicating presence of the illicit cargo at the Trippin Shuttle Sacco matatu they were traveling in.

Okello and Omingo have been handed over to Anti-Narcotics detectives based at DCI headquarters for further processing.

About

The establishment, development and growth of Criminal Investigations Department can be traced to the evolvement of the Kenya Police to which it remains one of the key formations. The first police officers were recruited in 1887 by the Imperial British East Africa Company, I.B.E.A. to provide security for stores in Mombasa. It was from these humble beginnings that the Kenya Police was born.
