FICHUA KWA DCI

The campaign for the #FichuakwaDCI hotline number 0800 722 203 has received a major boost, thanks to the overwhelming support of the US Embassy in Nairobi that donated 1,800 branded reflector jackets. The donation came in handy to complement other visibility enhancement approaches adopted by the DCI, geared towards promoting sharing of information on crime & criminals in an endeavour to realize a safer, secure & crime-free nation.

900 branded jackets were distributed among bodaboda operators & market vendors in the areas of Kayole, Embakasi, Kibra, Mathare & Eastleigh by DCI's Liaison & Corporate Communications team, augmented by staff from the office of the Director Operations.

Distribution of the remaining batch of 900 reflector jackets is also underway in the coastal region, in an exercise spearheaded by the Counter-Violent Extremism Directorate.

The DCI Hotline Center was officially opened on 10th December, 2020 by Mr James Duddridge, the Minister for Africa at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), UK.

The office is manned by a team of vetted multilingual officers, who receive and analyze information from anonymous callers before forwarding the same to the responsible units for action.

#FichuakwaDCI any time 24/7 at zero cost. Sharing information on wanted criminals, perpetrators of serious crimes & criminal activities happening around us is the pragmatic way to go in fighting crime.

Fichua today and count among millions of patriotic citizens that strive to make Kenya a safe haven for all.

About

The establishment, development and growth of Criminal Investigations Department can be traced to the evolvement of the Kenya Police to which it remains one of the key formations. The first police officers were recruited in 1887 by the Imperial British East Africa Company, I.B.E.A. to provide security for stores in Mombasa. It was from these humble beginnings that the Kenya Police was born.
