Detectives from the DCI Headquartersβ Land Fraud Investigations Unit have apprehended Joseph Njuguna Kamau, a suspect connected to the fraudulent transfer of a parcel of land in Gilgil, Nakuru County.
The complainant reported that she is the rightful owner of a land parcel in Kikopey measuring approximately 0.405 hectares, having acquired it from a seller who had shares with Mawingu Gwikana Gwika Women Self Help Group Enterprises. Later on, she was evicted from her parcel of land.
Investigations revealed that the land in question had been fraudulently sold to another unsuspecting buyer by the suspect, who was serving as the company secretary of Mawingu Gwikana Gwika Women Self Help Group Enterprises at the time of the incident.
Upon completing the investigations, the case file was submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), which approved charges for Conspiracy to Defraud and Obtaining Registration by False Pretences against the suspect.Β
Kamau was subsequently trailed and arrested in the Miharati area and was escorted to Naivasha Police Station. He is currently undergoing processing pending arraignment at the Naivasha Law Courts.
