CRACKDOWN ON NARCOTICS

Acting on intelligence, a multi-agency security team conducted a swift operation in Diani that led to the arrest of a trafficker and the recovery of narcotics.

Detectives first recovered two green gunny bags stuffed with rolls of cannabis.

The suspect, Hellen Saru Mwajombo, 36, then led officers to her nearby residence in Diani where an even bigger haul was recovered.

A thorough search of the house yielded multiple packages of narcotics, including a black bag, and another green gunny bag, all filled with cannabis.

Detectives also impounded a white Nissan Note, registration number KDS 092K, suspected of being used in the drug trade.

The DCI remains firmly committed to dismantling drug trafficking networks through relentless operations and multi-agency collaboration. With zero tolerance for traffickers, regardless of status, we will ensure a safer, drug-free Kenya for all.

About

The establishment, development and growth of Criminal Investigations Department can be traced to the evolvement of the Kenya Police to which it remains one of the key formations. The first police officers were recruited in 1887 by the Imperial British East Africa Company, I.B.E.A. to provide security for stores in Mombasa. It was from these humble beginnings that the Kenya Police was born.
