THE DCI CHOIR JOINS OTHER CHOIRS IN DONATING CHRISTMAS GOODIES
In a show of extraordinary kindness and solidarity with the vulnerable members of the society, the DCI Choir linked up with choirs from the Kenya Forest Service (KFS), Kenya Forest Research Institute (KEFRI), National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), Social Health Authority (SHA), Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) and the State Department of Housing and Urban Development in visiting homes for the elderly and Children's Homes within Mombasa County, yesterday.
Accompanied by the Director of Presidential Events Coordination Unit in the Office of the President the legendary Mwalimu Thomas Wasonga and representatives from the State Law Office and Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company, the Songbirds and their bass counterparts delivered bags of essentials, foodstuffs and cash to three institutions; Little Sisters of the Poor Nyumba ya Wazee, Nyumba ya Wazee Alms House and Mji wa Salama Children's Home.
Like the rest, the DCI Choir stretched out its hand in the spirit of sharing with the less fortunate in our society, and while at it showcased their melodious voices, much to the excitement of the senior citizens.
It was three days of heartwarming experiences as wazees loosed the dancing giants inside them, rising to the occasion in an effort to bring to life their pre-independence moves.
Lauding the choirs, Mombasa County Commissioner Mr. Mohamed Nur acknowledged their selflessness, opening doors for their return with more goodies.
The donation exercise continues in various counties within the Coast Region.
The DCI Choir's management led by the Director DCI Mr. Mohamed Amin and the DCI Administrative Secretary Mr. Peter Sichangi wish to thank the supporting donors; Pembe Flour Mills Limited, Co-operative Bank of Kenya and Capital Markets Authority for making it possible for the Choir to put a smile on the targeted groups.
