GUARDIANS WHO SAVAGELY BATTERED A CHILD BEING PURSUED

Bunyala Sub-County detectives are hotly pursuing Edwin Ogolla and Denis Asabu, who are wanted for the assault of a minor as captured on a camera recording that has been widely shared on various social media outlets.

While presenting the minor at Port Victoria Police Station, children's officers informed the police that the heart-wrenching incident took place three months ago at the minor's home located in the Musoma area.

During the incident, the minor's uncle, namely Edwin Ogolla, was captured on camera while manhandling him as his father recorded the happenings without an iota of guilt. The minor suffered serious injuries that are still healing due to a lack of immediate medical attention.

When the incident came to light, children's officers took the minor to hospital where he was treated and the medical form (P3) filled.

Further, detectives in Bunyala recorded witness statements and launched hot pursuit for the two ruffians. They are on the run and believed to be holed up in a neighbouring country. However, pragmatic measures are underway to flush them out and bring them to justice.

About

The establishment, development and growth of Criminal Investigations Department can be traced to the evolvement of the Kenya Police to which it remains one of the key formations. The first police officers were recruited in 1887 by the Imperial British East Africa Company, I.B.E.A. to provide security for stores in Mombasa. It was from these humble beginnings that the Kenya Police was born.
