SHAKAHOLA CASE HEARING
While hearing testimony by a protected witness, Mombasa Chief Magistrate Court today heard that Paul Mackenzie had scheduled his family last on the list of those who will die to see Jesus. Such was his preaching to his followers in 2022 in Shakahola.
The minor who was rescued by law enforcement officers during the tragic event narrated sequentially to the court the events leading up to their relocation to Shakahola and how his mother decided to withdraw him from school to join Mackenzie’s program in Shakahola.
Just like in the Bible, the witness revealed how Mackenzie had divided Shakahola into Judea, Tiro, Sidoni, Emaus, Capernaum and Galileo.
Vividly, he recounted the meeting at the "Mitola" tree, where Mackenzie initiated “fasting until death” saying that Jesus would not return, and so he instructed them to fast until death to see him.
During their time at Shakahola, the witness stated that they were prohibited from attending school because it was not part of God’s plan. Additionally, if someone fell ill, they were not allowed to seek medical treatment.
The hearing of Mackenzie and his co-accused is scheduled to continue tomorrow September 10, 2024.
