TRIO IN DIESEL THIEVERY ARRESTED
Three suspects have been arrested for stealing 600 litres of diesel belonging to Kenya Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO) Ltd by illegally siphoning the fuel from its reservoir drums into plastic jerrycans for disposal.
Acting on intelligence report, hawkshaws from the Operation Support Unit intercepted a Mitsubishi pickup Reg No. KBL 054D at KAA Estate adjacent to Wilson Airport, where the driver and two KUSCCO employees were arrested and the fuel seized.
After interrogating the suspects, detectives established that the two KUSCCO employees (John Kioko, 41 and Michael Kioko) were deployed to safeguard the Sh107,460 worth of fuel drawn from Mbagathi Way Total Petrol Station, meant for the company's generators stationed at its Upper Hill offices.
But driven by the sheer greed for quick cash, the Kioko's conspired with Gabriel Ngeta, 48, to rob their employer, only to hit a cul de sac before the deal bore a penny.
They are cooling their heels in police cells as EPRA & CSI officers finalize their processing for arraignment
