ARREST OF ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE SUSPECT
Police officers in Molo have arrested a key suspect in a robbery with violence incident, where two men disguised in police jungle jackets stormed a petrol station and terrorised staff in a night raid.
The arrest followed a call reporting an ongoing robbery at Total Petrol Station, where the attackers, armed with crude weapons, pounced on the pump attendant and the watchman, tied them up with ropes, and ransacked the premises.
In a swift response, officers launched a manhunt for the fleeing duo, who vanished into the darkness after making away with cash, mobile phones, and personal valuables.
This led to the arrest of the first suspect, 55-year-old Joseph Daudi Bulinga. A search conducted on the suspect saw officers recover a claw bar, a police smoke jacket, and a tear gas canister.
Bulinga is currently in custody as officers process him for arraignment. Meanwhile, a hot pursuit is underway for his accomplice, who remains on the run.
The National Police Service commends the public for consistently sharing vital information that strengthens the fight against crime.
